APPLIANCE ID

Each individual piece of equipment is given a unique Identification number ( see Fig 1).

This is used to identify this appliance for subsequent tests.

All results can be compared to see if there is any deterioration in the electrical safety properties of the piece.

PASS LABEL

If the Appliance passes the "required tests", then a PASS label ( Fig 2.) will be attached.

This label records the following information :

  • Appliance ID., This a unique identifier and can be provided by BEAMS or by the client.
  • Pass Date., This is the Date on which the appliance passed test.
  • Re-Test Date, This the Date the unit is due for re-test. This may be as short as 3 months from original test date or as long as 3 or 5 years. Very much depends on client's requirements, or their insurer's requirements
  • Test Engineer, Name of the engineer carrying out the tests.
  • Fuse Rating. - This an indicator of the Fuse size required by the unit and should be followed for any subsequent fuse replacements.

FAIL LABEL

If the unit fails the "required tests", then a FAIL label ( Fig 3.) will be attached. If however the unit fails initially because of a damaged plug or faulty fuse then we will replace this as part of the service

Any further fail reasons will be noted and the client will be informed on the day of the test.
